Hawise was born in 1135 in Okehampton, Devenshire, Eng. Hawise's father was William Courcy and her mother was Maud Avranchies. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Courcy and Rohesia Grentmesnil; her maternal grandparents were Roland Avranchies and Maud Monville. She was an only child. She died at the age of 84 on July 31st, 1219.-
