Gary was born on September 26th, 1946 in Bedford, Lawrence Co., Indiana. Gary's father was William Hillenberg and his mother was Zetta Catherine Butcher. His paternal grandparents were Grover Hillenberg and Ethel W. Clarke; his maternal grandparents were Joseph H. Butcher and Lora L. Shields. He was an only child. He died at the age of 23 on January 8th, 1970 in Bloomington ,Monroe Co., Indiana. He was buried in Creshaven Memory Gardens, Bedford, Lawrence Co., Indiana.-
