Manuel Jackson was born on April 16th, 1834 in ,Marion Co.,Tn. Manuel Jackson's father was Churchwell McNew and his mother was Mary J. Kilgore. His paternal grandparents were George McNew and Sarah Jackson. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James, Stephen K., Charles M., Isaiah S., Rufus M., Thomas Benton, Sally, Mary Rebecca Elizabeth and Martha A.. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 68 on March 13th, 1903 in Flatwoods,Ripley,Mo.. He was buried in March 1903 in Springhill Cem.,Ripley Co.,Mo..General Notes
