L. Esther was born about 1873 in WV. L. Esther's father was Madison W. Hix and her mother was Eliza Jane Hall. Her paternal grandfather was George Hix. She had four brothers and a sister, named James G., Charls M., Dewit, George B. and Caroline. She was the second oldest of the six children.-
