Pepin was born about 0803. Pepin's father was Louis I the Pious and his mother was Ermengarde d'Esbay DE HESBAYE. His paternal grandparents were Charlemagne and Hildegarde of Lizgau VON VINZGAU; his maternal grandfather was Ingram Ingeramne de Lige DE HESBAYE. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Arnulf, Lothair, Louis Ludwig II of Germany, Hildegard Matilda of the West, Rotrud, Adele Aelis and Alpaide. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Charles II the Bald, Hugh I and Gilsela. He died in 0838 in 833.General Notes
