Charles III the Simple was born in France. Charles III the Simple's father was Louis II the Stammerer le Begue and his mother was Adelheide or Judith DE PARIS DE PORTHOIS. His paternal grandparents were Charles II the Bald and Ermentrude Hermentrude D'ORLANS; his maternal grandfather was Adelhard. He had a brother and a sister, named NN and Ermengarde.
