HEINRICH's father was BERTHOLD I MARGRAVE VON NORDGAU and his mother was EILISWINTA VON WALBECK.  His paternal grandparents were ARNULF I OF BAVARIA and JUDITH OF FRIULI; his maternal grandparents were LOTHAR II OF WALBECK and MATHILDE OF ARNEBURG.  He was an only child.

They had a daughter named ELICA.
