Charlemagne "Charles the Great" of the Holy was born in Aachen, Ingelheim Ingolheim.1   Charlemagne "Charles the Great" of the Holy's father was Pepin "The Short" III of Franks UNKNOWN and his mother was Bertrada II of Franks d' Laon.  His paternal grandparents were Charles "The Hammer" of Martel de Heristal and Chrotrudis Rotrou (Rotrude) of Austrasia UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were Canbert (Heribert) d'Laon d' Laon and Bertrada d'Laon UNKNOWN.  He was an only child.  He died in Aix la Chapelle, Aachen, Rhineland, Prussia.1
