Elvira's father was Osorio de Torono and her mother was Elvira Rodriguez.  Her paternal grandparents were Rodrigo de Osorio Martinez and Urraca de Castro Fernandez; her maternal grandfather was Rodrigo de Vellosa Perez.  She was an only child.

They had a son named Fruela.
