Ealhswith's father was Aethelred "The Great" OF MERCIA and her mother was Eadburga OF MERCIA.  Her paternal grandfather was Mucel UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Wigmund OF MERCIA and UNKNOWN Elfleda.  She was an only child.

‌Ealhswith and Alfred "The Great" Of England were married in a religious ceremony in 0868.¹   They had a daughter named Elfridam.
