Alfonso III (King of was born in 0848.1 Alfonso III (King of's father was I Ordono and his mother was UNKNOWN Nuna. His paternal grandparents were I Ramiro and Paterna of Castile. He was an only child. He died at the age of 62 in 0910.1 General Notes

Alfonso III, called the Great, (d.910) king of Leon, Asturius and Galicia
from 866 till his death. He fought over thirty campaigns and gained
numerous victories over the Moors, occupied Coimbra, and extended his
territory as far as Portugal and Old Castile. His three sons conspired
against him and eventually
dethroned him. (Larousse Biographical Dictionary, p 31)
Alfonso III (King of and Jimena were married in a religious ceremony in 0869.1 They had a son named II.
