Ives was born in 1062 in NORMANDY, FRANCE.1   Ives' father was Hugh Grentmesnil and his mother was Alice Beaumont.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Grentmesnil and Hawise D'Eschafour. He had a sister named Adeline.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 56 in 1118.1
