James Newton Bowden 
James Newton was born about 1847 in Prob. Lawrence Co, TN.1 James Newton's father was Charles Went Bowden. His paternal grandfather was John Bodine. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Constantine S., John Wesley, Fountain P., Sidney E., Mary G. and Margaret E.. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died about 1929 in Rising Star, Eastland Co, TX.1 
James Newton were married in a religious ceremony on July 12th, 1874 in Pope County, AR.1 He had a biological son and two biological daughters, named Alonzo Wortham, Esker and Mary E..
