Peder Ivarson was born in 1842 in Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway.1 Peder Ivarson's father was Ivar Kinnebergbratten and his mother was Barbo Lostegaard. His maternal grandparents were Nils Olson Ro Lostegaard and Barbo Eriksdatter Lostegaard. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Ole Iverson, Nels Iverson, Iver Iverson, Barbo Ivarsdtr, Elene Barbro Iversdtr and Inger Julia Iversdtr. He was the oldest of the seven children.
