Lily was born on November 14th, 1915.1 Lily's father was Joe Halldron and her mother was Lily Pittaway. Her paternal grandmother was Hannah Louise Beardsmore; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Pittaway and Mary Ann Tonkinson. She had a brother and a sister, named Joseph Leslie and Child.
