Benjamin was born in 1753 in ,, Virginia.¹ Benjamin's father was Abraham Estes and his mother was Elizabeth Jeeter. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Estes and Mrs. Barbara Estes. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Elisha, Edmund, Lucy and Mary Ann. He was the second youngest of the five children.
