Jens Nilson was born on March 24th, 1820 in Luster, Sogn Og Fjordane Co., Norway and his baptism took place there on April 2nd, 1820.¹   He died  due to liver complaint at the age of 56 on November 8th, 1876 in Wanamingo, Wanamingo Township, Goodhue Co., Minnesota, U.S.A..  He was buried in Holden Lutheran Cemetary, Wanamingo Township, Goodhue Co., Minnesota, U.S.A..^1 1
