Anna's father was Leo III (Emperor) of the EAST and her mother was Maria (Marina), Empress of BYZANTIUM.  Her paternal grandparents were An Isaurian noble UNKNOWN and Fabia Proba UNKNOWN.  She was an only child.

They had a son named Nicephorus (Co-Emperor).
