Otto I 'The Great' Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire was born in Saxony, Germany.  Otto I 'The Great' Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire's father was Heinrich I 'The Fowler' King of the GERMANS, Duke of Saxony and his mother was Mathilda, Countess of  RINGELHEIM, Queen of the GERMANS.  His paternal grandparents were Otto'The Illustrious' Duke of SAXONY and Hathui, Duchess of SAXONY; his maternal grandparents were Theodoric, Count of  RINGELHEIM and Ludmilla Ragnhildis Countess of RINGELHEIM.  He was an only child.  He died in Memleben, Saxony, Germany.
