King Ragnar (Lodbruck) Sigurdsson Of Sweden 
Ragnar, known as Lodbruck, was born about 0750 in Uppsala,Sweden.1 Lodbruck's father was King Sigurd (Ring) Randversson Of Sweden and his mother was Afhild Gandolfsdoittir. His paternal grandparents were Randver Randbardsson and Aud Godfreidsdoittir; his maternal grandfather was King Gandolf Alfgeirsson Of Norway. He had two brothers named The Old and Rurik. "Lodbruck" means Hairy Breeches because according to legend he froze hairy blankets to his breeches to protect his legs from the serpent which he drove out of his native Sweden. He led his men to Constantinople; to Dublin; up the Seine to Paris, which he sacked in 845; to the Orkney Islands; and finally Northumbria, whose king thrust him into a den of snakes.
