Edward Gilman 
Edward was born on December 26th, 1617 in England.1 Edward's father was Edward Gilman and his mother was Mary Clark. His paternal grandparents were Robert Gilman and Mary; his maternal grandparents were John Clark and Elizabeth. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Moses, Joshua, John, Jeremy, Mary, Sarah and Lydia. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 36 in 1653 in at sea.2 General Notes
Lived in house given to them by father-in-law. Sold house to
his father and moved to Exeter, NH 1647. He built and operated
saw mills. "He was active, enterprising and judicious and
immediately became a popular and leading citizen." Many grans
of land made to him. In 1653 he went to England and was lost at
sea.
