Garcia I's father was Fernan Gonzalez and his mother was Sancha Sanchez Of Pamploma. His maternal grandparents were King Sancho I Garciez Of Pamploma, Conde De Aragon and Urraca Anzarez Aenarez Of Aragon. He had a half-sister named Urraca. He died in 0995 in Castilla,Spain.
Garcia I and Ava were married in a religious ceremony in 0960. They had a son and a daughter, named Sancho and Elvira.
