Algitha was born in 0995 in Northumberland,England.  Algitha's father was Earl Uhtred (The Bold) De Northumberia and her mother was Countess Ecgfrida De Durham.  Her paternal grandparents were Ealdorman Waltheof De Northumberia Of Northrumbria & Bamburg and Elufleda De Northumberia; her maternal grandfather was Bishop Ealdhun De Durham. She had two brothers named Eadulf and Aldred.  She was the youngest of the three children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Gospatric, Edric Streora, Lulelph and Edith.
