Earl William De Montagu Of Salisbury 
William was born on June 20th, 1328 in Cassington,Oxfordshire,England. He was an only child. He died at the age of 68 on June 3rd, 1397.General Notes
The 2nd Earl of this creation fought at Crecy and Poitiers and was a founder of the Knight of the Garter, outliving all his fellow first-generation KG's. He also went through a form of marriage and subsequently cohabited as husband with Joan "The Fair Maid of Kent". [Burke's Peerage]
William and Joan were married in a religious ceremony on October 15th, 1348 in dissolved by Pope 17 Nov 1349.
