Ivo, known as Ives, was born in 1064.1   Ives' father was Hugh De Grandmesnil and his mother was Alice De Beaumont.  His paternal grandparents were Robert De Grandmesnil and Hawise D'Eschauffen; his maternal grandparents were Ivo Yves II and Judith. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert II, William and Agnes.  He was the second youngest of the four children.
