Robert was born about 1409 in Sanquhar Castle,Dumfrieshire,Scotland. Robert's father was Laird Robert Crichton Of Sanquhar and his mother was Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents were Laird Robert Crichton Of Sanquhar and Christina Erskine. He had a sister named Christian. He was the younger of the two children. He died after October 17th, 1478 in Sanquhar Castle,Dumfrieshire,Scotland.1 General Notes
Sir Robert Crichton of Sanquhar; married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John/William Erskine of Kinnoul, and died 1478/9, leaving, with a daughter (Christian, married 1st Sir Robert Colville of Oxnam, married 2nd de jure 14th Earl of Mar), a son Sir Robert Crichton, 1st Lord Crichton of Sanquhar.
