Garcia De Vera Y was born in Jerez.  Garcia De Vera Y's father was Rodrigo De Vera Centellas and his mother was Beatriz De Vargas.  His paternal grandfather was Esteban De Vera.  He was an only child.

They had a son named Pedro De Vera Y.
