Petrona's father was Pedro Maria Sanchez Munoz and her mother was Maria "Mariquita" Estavillo. Her paternal grandparents were Jose Antonio Sanchez Montes De Oca and Juana Nepomucena Muñoz Y Palacios; her maternal grandfather was XX Estavillo. She had four brothers and eight sisters, named Fernando, Fortunato, Juan Maria, Pedro, Bedulia, Clotilde, Cornelia, Felipa, Josefa, Maria, Orfilia and Sinforiana "Forita".-
