Junius was born in , , Brazil.  Junius' father was Jose Ignacio Guasque Cabeza and his mother was Ana Luiza Barcellos Moreno.  His paternal grandparents were Jose Guasque Cardoso and Maria Hidalgo; his maternal grandparents were Luis Barcellos and Ana Ceulia Moreno. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Alceto, Jose Luis, Randolpho, Abrilina, Cecilia, Aldina, Amanda, Ernesta, Iva and Marcia.
