Adèle was born in 1081. Adèle's father was Hugues De Dammartin and her mother was Roharde Ou Rohais De Clare. Her paternal grandfather was Manassès De Dammartin; her maternal grandparents were Richard Fitz Gilbert De Brionne and Rohèse Giffard De Bolbec. She had a sister named Hedwige.
