Ataulfo was born about 0355.  Ataulfo's father was Athanaric II De Wisigothie.  His paternal grandfather was Aoric De Wisigothie. He had a sister named ?.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died in September 0415.

‌Ataulfo and Galla Placidia were married in a religious ceremony in 0413.  They had a daughter named Clotilde.
