Jacob was born on December 13th, 1661 in Portsmouth RI,Newport Co..1 Jacob's father was Jacob Mott and his mother was Joanna Slocum. His paternal grandparents were Adam Mott and Sarah Lott; his maternal grandparents were Giles Slocombe and Joan Cook. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, Gershom, Mary, Hannah, Sarah and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the seven children.1 -
