Note: Thomas Jefferson, I is considered the emigrant ancestor, the first Jefferson settler who remained in VA. He was a planter and a surveyor. In 1682 he purchased 157A in Henrico Co from William Byrd, and in 1692 he purchased a town lot. In 1697 he lived at the Curls region of the James River, below present Richmond. His will has been lost.
‌Thomas and Mary Martha were married in a religious ceremony in 1677 in Curles,James River,Henrico County Virginia. They had two sons and two daughters, named Thomas, Captain Thomas, Martha and Mary.
