Robert De Ros 
Robert was born about 1223 in Hamlake,Trusbutt,& Belvoir; Helmsley,Leicestershire, ENGLAND. Robert's father was William De Ros and his mother was Lucia FitzPiers. His paternal grandparents were Robert , 4th Baron Hamlake De Ros and Isabel Stewart; his maternal grandparents were Piers FitzHerbert and Alice FitzRogers. He had a brother named William. He was the older of the two children. He died on June 16th, 1285 in Kirkham,ENGLAND.General Notes
the eldest son, of Hamlake Castle. He took an active part against the King and was one of the first Barons after the battle of
Lewes in 1264 to be summoned to the Parliament which was called by the barons in the king's name. He married Isabel,
granddaughter of the Surety Baron William de'Albini. Roos must have gained royal favor to some extent, for he then had
permission to place a new embattled wall around the Castle of Belvoir. He died 16 June 1285. His daughter Isabel became the
first wife of Walter deFanconberge and second of Marmaduke Thweng, and through her daughter Alice Theweng who married
Roger Kryton, descendants survive to the present day; Robert deRoos, through whose son Sacer deRoos, many present day
descend. It is however, through eldest son that the majority of lineages are traced.
