His paternal grandparents were Walter Clifford and Margaret De Toeni; his maternal grandparents were Roger De Cundy and Basilia De Dammartin. He had a brother named Walter IV , Lord Corfham. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 64 in 1232.-
