Marie Chaussegros 
General Notes
Marie Chaussegros who was one of five young women from Rochefort, France, whom the French government sent to the Acadian and Quebec colonies to marry the young bachelor settlers. These brave young women were often orphans and were known fondly as the "king's nieces" because the French government provided them with ships passage, clothes, and a small dowery.
Marie and Martin were married in a religious ceremony in 1672 in Pisiquit,L'Assomption,Acadia,CANADA.1 They had four sons and five daughters, named Clement, Pierre, Claude, Jean, Jacqueline, Marie, Catherine, Jeanne-Anne and Francoise.
