Henry Albery who died in 1629 was a merchant in the low countries who held property to the West of the City of London and at Lock's Farm outside Wokingham
in Berkshire.
In his will he left instructions for the property to be sold and the proceeds split among his family, who were still minors.
His brother Thomas was a privateer who sequestered at least one Spanish ship in the channel.
In the light of this I am quite confident that the 14 year old John Albery who went out to New England in 1634 and the 15 year old William who went out to
Bermuda the following year were Henry's sons.
Clearly their is a family of Albros in the United States tracing descent from John, just as the vast numbers of Alburies in the Bahamas and Florida must descend from
brother William.
I attach below sources for hte above together with the grant (or confirmation) of arms to Henry's father Thomas.
Locks Farm came in to the family of the Marquess of Downshire and was rebuilt in the early 18th Century. The replacement is a beautiful Quen Anne House.
However a glorious medieval barn remains whish has benn rather tastelessy converted to residential accomodation.
Are the descendants of John Albery /Albro recorded anywhere?
