Roger was born about 1208 in Dinas Powis, Wales. Roger's father was John De Somery and his mother was Margaret Fitzgilbert. His paternal grandparents were John De Somery and Hawise Paynel; his maternal grandparents were John "The Marshall" Fitzgilbert and Sybil De Salisbury. He was an only child. He died on August 26th, 1273 in Staffordshire, England.-
