Tristen was born about 1756 in Stafford, Stafford Co. VA..1 Tristen's father was Samuel Washington and his mother was Mildred Thornton. His paternal grandparents were Augustine Washington and Jane Butler. He had three brothers and a sister, named Theodore Augustine, Bushrod, Corbin and Mildred. He was the second oldest of the five children.-
