Succeeded his father. He was about thirty years old at his father's death. He is described in 1458 as Lord of the Manors of Stockport, Poynton Wood Plumpton Forneby, Rotley, Boton, and Skegeton. In 1473 he made John Warren, clerk, Rector of Stockport, his attorney. This clergyman was prohably a relative, although not placed in Watson's pedigree.
