Her paternal grandparents were Herbert I DE Vermandois and Bertha de Morvois; her maternal grandparents were Robert I and Of Alsace Adelaide. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Herbert, Odo de, Robert de, Hugh de Rheims, Adelbert I, Sprota Adela de and Luitgarde of. She was the third oldest of the eight children.
