John II Taylor 
John II was born in 1627 in of Hadleigh, Suffolk, England.1 John II's father was John Taylor and his mother was Elizabeth Taylor. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Taylor and Margaret Swinderby. He had six brothers and a sister, named Richard, Robert, William, Thomas, Richard, James and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 75 on April 5th, 1702 in ,Northumberland, Virginia.1 General Notes

"Being a member and part owner of the Merchant Taylor Clothing Guild
John was often referred to as Merchant John, or John Jr. Supplies that
were carried to England included grain, furs, molasses, wine and tabacco;
tabacco being used as money. It was packed in hogsheads or casque and
rolled along the road to shipping points." - "Log Cabins", p.70.
Like his father John Jr acquired huge land grants in Virginia.
