Hancock TAYLOR 
Hancock was born in 1745 in ,Orange, Virginia, USA.1 Hancock's father was Richard TAYLOR and his mother was Dinah. His paternal grandparents were Richard Taylor and Jenet. He had nine brothers named Richard, Joseph, William, Richard, Charles, Thomas, Joseph Zachary, Ezekiel and Zackery. He died at the age of 29 on August 1st, 1774 in Taylor Fork, Silver Creek, Kentucky.1 General Notes

He and his brother Lieutenant Colonel Richard Taylor together made the first journey down th e Ohio and Mississippi Rivers from what is now Pittsburgh to the mouth of the Mississippi, re turning through the unknown Inidan Country over land in 1769.

!NOTE: He was a surveyor and was killed by Indians while on a surveying trip
in Madison Co. Ky. His friends there buried him there on Taylor Fork of
Silver Creek, named for him.
