Thyra was born about 0993 in Denmark.¹ Thyra's father was Sveyn I Haraldsson and her mother was Gunhilda of Poland. Her paternal grandparents were Harald VII Bluetooth Gormsson and Gyrid Olafsson. She had a brother named Canute II. She had two half-sisters named Margaret and Svantoslava of Denmark. She died in 1018.¹
