Sihtric Silkbeard's father was Olaf Cuar Sitricsson and his mother was Gormflaeth ingen Murchada MacFinn. His paternal grandparents were Sitric II Sigtryggr Gale and Edith of England; his maternal grandparents were Morugh MacFinn and daughter O'Ruarc. He had five brothers named Dubgall, Glniarainn Jnkn, Gofraid, Harald and Ragnall. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Morough, Domnall Ban, Murchad, Teige Terence and Slani ingen Briain. He died in 1042 in Clontarf, Dublin.1 General Notes
