migrated from Scotland to Maryland prior to 1657. He resided in Calvert County, MD on the P atuxent River, and at the Levels Plantation. Thomas Williams in 1664 applied for land at t he Annapolis Land Office for transporting James Mullikin. Mullikins will was dated 18 Augus t 1666 and probated on 16 October 1667. Information about this family was obtained from Ac ross the Years in Prince George County, page 636 and from LDS church IGI record #1040333.

Pg. 62 - Pennsylvania reports: (author o f this reference uses The Bowie & Their Kindred book (pub 1899) from pg 22 for reference t o John Bowie b. 1688, in SCT). " John Bowie married Mary, daughter of James Mulliken [sic, t he Bowie book states the spelling as Mullikin, who lived upon his plantation in Prince George 's county, called "The Level." He (the typist now believes this to mean James Mullikin) is s aid to have emigrated from Scotland about 1650. He (typist believes this is referring to Jame s Mullikin) died in 1715."
