John Chew 
John was born on July 16th, 1587 in England-------------------see notes.1 John's father was John Chew and his mother was Anne Broddyle. His paternal grandparents were Robert Chewe and Ana Chatbourne. He was an only child. He died at the age of 81 on August 24th, 1668 in MD..1 General Notes

is son Joseph:\Having left Virginia when very young I cannot give but an imperf
ect account of our family. The first of them JOHN CHEW was settled in Virginia a
bout 1640 at which time Sir William Berkley was Govenor of the colony and had a
particular regard for him as I find by some papers I have. The family afterwards
moved to Maryland from the Chews in that [area] and those in Philadelphia desce
