William BEST 
William was born about 1764 in ,Edgecombe, North Carolina, USA.1 William's father was Thomas BEST and his mother was Mary Ann Jones. His paternal grandparents were Thomas BEST and Sarah Jane Alexander; his maternal grandfather was Lewelling GRIMES. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Henry, Sarah, Amy and Mary. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died in 1825.1
