Helen was born in 1873 in ,Wayne, Illinois.1 Helen's father was William P. Withrow and her mother was Lucinda Tibbs. Her paternal grandparents were Richardson Withrow and Elizabeth King; her maternal grandparents were Charles Tibbs and Mary A.. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Charles, Thomas R., Martha E. and Susan. She was the third oldest of the five children.-
