Alvin Elkins was born on May 10th, 1890 in Labascus, Casey County, Kentucky.1 Alvin Elkins' father was James William Wilham and his mother was Sarah Delilah Watson. He was an only child. He died at the age of 63 on October 19th, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio.1 General Notes

Alvin farmed a little, then went to Cincinnati, Ohio at an early age to find a better career. He worked in a steel mill for a few years but spent most of his adult life as a locomotive engineer for the Baltimore and Ohio R.R., with a few years as a stationary engineer for an industrial power plant.
